This image was created in a moody photography style, using dramatic light and shadow to tell a deeper story. It was quiet, intentional, and emotional, everything I believe maternity photography should be. The moody aesthetic was actually a requirement for submission to Inspired Magazine, which made the process even more meaningful.
This year, I had the incredible honor of being featured in Inspired Magazine by the National Association of Portrait and Child Photographers (NAPCP), and I still have to pinch myself when I think about it.
For those who aren’t familiar, Inspired Magazine is a beautifully curated publication that highlights some of the most heartfelt, intentional work in portrait and child photography from around the world. To be included among such talented, passionate photographers is both humbling and surreal.
The image selected was one from a maternity session that has stayed with me. The soft lighting, the quiet strength in her pose, and the timeless beauty of motherhood all came together in one of those rare, magical moments behind the lens. It wasn’t just a photo; it was a story of anticipation, strength, and deep love.
